The world

Football belongs to everyone

The game needs almost nothing: a ball, a player and a patch of concrete. It is played in parking lots, on rooftops and in the cages behind schools, and it shapes players long before any academy finds them.

Urbanball takes that game off the street corner and into structured competition. Across the summer of the 2026 World Cup, the series travels through American cities in search of the one player who can rise above the rest.

Sean Garnier

Born in Sens, France and raised on the competitive streets of Paris, Sean was a promising young footballer until injuries pushed him toward freestyle. In 2008 he won the inaugural Red Bull Street Style World Finals in São Paulo, and in 2024 he carried the Olympic torch through Paris.

He helped build Urbanball from the ground up. On the show he is the host, the judge and the guide, travelling city to city to find the player he believes can go all the way.

How it's filmed

Documentary depth.
Cinematic style.

The arena

Each court is covered like a prizefight: wide angles for strategy, close coverage for pressure and impact.

The access

The walk before the match, the family at the fence, the silence after a loss. Players are filmed before, between and after every round.

The rhythm

Every city has its own sound and pace, shaped by the crowd, the music and the host's commentary.

“The mother watching from outside the fence, holding her breath, tells you everything about what that player has already overcome.”

The format

1 ball. 2 players.
3 minutes to win.

Head to head

Two outfield players attack the same goalkeeper on a compact pitch. There is nowhere to hide and nobody to share the blame.

Two ways to score

Players score by finishing in the net or by landing elite tricks. Style counts as much as the goal.

Sudden death

Every city runs an open, single-elimination bracket. Win and move on. Lose and you are gone.
